Photo Exhibit
"A Change of Art: Perspectives from a Weathered
World. Alternative Solutions for a Changing Climate."
February 18-20, 2005
Glorietta 3 Mall, Makati, Philippines klima Climate Change Center together with Solar Electric Company Inc. (SOLARCO) held a 3-day exhibit in Glorietta 3(between McDonald's and Gift Gate) on climate change and alternative solutions from February 18-20, 2005. This exhibit commemorated the much awaited entry into force of the global treaty Kyoto Protocol on 16 February 2005 which requires developed countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 5.2 % below their 1990 levels between the years 2008-2012.
The theme of the exhibit is "A Change of Art: Perspectives from a Weathered World. Alternative Solutions for a Changing Climate." The exhibit featured photographs taken by the class of renowned photographer Mr. Pancho Escaler as well as posters by klima and its partners on the issue of climate change. The display aims to raise awareness and appreciation of the consequences of global warming caused by our actions. Further, the exhibit aims to highlight some alternative solutions to addressing the issue of climate change, such as the use of renewable energy. |
